Through his extensive experience litigating intellectual property matters in virtually all types of forums where such matters are litigated and negotiating and preparing a wide array of intellectual property agreements, Scott Zarin has acquired a vast store of knowledge about the copyright and trademark laws and how those laws operate and can be used to protect intellectual property rights. Zarin’s track record litigating matters before the federal courts and the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (TTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office is particularly extensive.
Prior to founding Zarin & Associates, Zarin litigated such matters at Fulbright & Jaworski (currently known as Norton Rose Fulbright), a large multinational law firm, and Darby & Darby, a boutique national law firm whose practice was devoted exclusively to intellectual property matters. Zarin founded Zarin & Associates because he realized that these powerhouse law firms were financially beyond the reach of most small and medium sized companies and believed that such companies should have access to the same sophisticated high quality intellectual property legal services as large companies. Zarin therefore focuses his practice on these small and medium sized companies in a diverse array of industries, including but not limited to technology, entertainment, music, pharmaceuticals, apparel, consumer goods and publishing. When Zarin is not vigorously protecting his clients’ intellectual property interests, he can most often be found scaling mountains or traveling to off-the-beaten track places.
